Advanced Java Programming

Course Description
This course is broken into two parts:
Advanced Java Programming, Part 1 builds on a foundation of Java programming knowledge and enables you to use many of the important classes in the JDK for manipulating data structures, parsing and formatting, performing input/output operations. Hands-on lab exercises complement the lectures and ensure that you will be able to apply what you learn to real Java applications. All source code for modules and labs is provided.

Advanced Java Programming, Part 2 covers networking issues, multi-threading, RMI and JDBC. You will write programs using sockets, distributed objects, threads, and a database interface. Hands-on lab exercises complement the lectures and ensure that you will be able to apply what you learn to real Java applications.

Audience
This course is designed for programmers already familiar with the Java programming language and who are interested in expanding their skills and understanding of these advanced topics.

Prerequisites
Experience with Java is recommended.
