UNIX Fundamentals

 
 

Course Description
This course provides an introduction to UNIX, including the file system, file types and permissions, shells and shell functions, processes and process control, scripts, I/O, and the vi editor. This hands-on course allows students to learn and practice the skills necessary to become productive in the UNIX environment, including use of commands, tools, and utilities that are part of the UNIX operating system.

Audience
This course is designed for systems users and programmers migrating from other operating systems to UNIX. Class size is limited unless by special arrangement.

Prerequisites
None. This is an introductory level course.
